About us
We are Pim van de Vrande (24) , Silvijn Westerweel (21) and
Kaiden Khouw (20) — three friends and students at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
Kaiden studies Civil Engineering, Pim Commercial Economics and Silvijn Creative Business.
Together we form Vinylie , a young design startup born from a love for music, light and the making itself.
We believe that the things around you should have meaning. That an object can be more than just beautiful or functional—it can tell a story, evoke memories, and bring a space to life.
Vinylie brings together music, light and design.
We make lamps from old vinyl records, hand-formed and crafted with care.
Every lamp carries its own past: every scratch, every label, every story.
We see beauty in what has already had a life.
Instead of using new materials, we give forgotten records a second chance.
Not because it has to be sustainable, but because it can be beautiful.
In our workshop, discarded LPs are given a new rhythm.
We shape them with heat and water, so that their texture and character are retained.
Each piece is hand finished with certified fittings and attention to detail.
The result is a lamp that does not come from a factory, but from the hands of real makers.
Our lamps are for people with a sense of atmosphere.
For those who not only hear music, but also feel it — as emotion, memory and identity.
From The Vinylie to custom designs, each piece combines nostalgia and modern character.
Vinyl. Light with character.
